This is mahi that will improve the health and well-being of everyone in Aotearoa, and we've got an opportunity for you to be part of it.Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity The Health Analytics business unit provides health analytics and insights which support planning and delivery of better, more equitable health services.In this role, your primary purpose will be to provide analytics advice relating to health service activity and performance to all Health New Zealand directorates, especially Hospital & Specialist Services, Commissioning, and wider stakeholders including Parliament, the Ministry of Health and media.On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for identifying insights from patterns within health data sets, apply data manipulation techniques to produce data modelling and will use these insights and analysis to support the creation and preparation of comprehensive reports and create compelling data visualisations, at a Senior level.This role will also see you liaising and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation, and using these relationships to gain an understanding of business and reporting requirements.To be successful in this role you must either currently be living in the Te Manawa Taki region, or be willing to relocate.Mōu | About youYou will be a significantly experienced Senior Data Analyst with a background or interest in health data, or experience working across a large organisation.Able to apply critical thinking and sound judgement, you thrive in fast-paced and complex environments, and excel at managing multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
Your strong communication and interpersonal skills enable you to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceA relevant tertiary qualification e.g. business analysis, business insights, data science, statisticsAn excellent understanding of the fundamentals of analytics and how the discipline is used to create business and customer valueA minimum of 7 to 10 years' experience in Intelligence analyst roles, within large organisations across the public or private sectorAdvanced knowledge of appropriate visualisation tools and data techniques to elicit high quality insights, create and validate dashboards (e.g. requirements gathering, data cleansing, development of insights and process mapping)Working knowledge of the Health Sector and governmentGood mentoring and training skillsStrong communication skills with the confidence and ability to present and defend decisions in a manner appropriate to the needs of the audience.Ka kawea e koe | You will bring:A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
