We are a diverse horticultural consultancy business based in Motueka with various projects located throughout Tasman District. Who are you?
Responsible for wide range of duties, from overseeing laboratory operations to designing and implementing field trials, you will play a vital role in driving innovation and fostering strategic partnerships. You will spearhead the strategic roadmap for research and development, aligning our priorities with our vision for growth.

Reporting to the General Manager, the key responsibilities include:
 •  Liase with clients (Industry and Growers)
 •  Oversee the efficient laboratory operations in Richmond, providing clients with comprehensive analysis and interpretation of laboratory results
 •  Design, plan, and execute field trials in collaboration with clients and internal teams, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
 •  Implement robust data management practices to capture, analyse, and interpret experimental data and research findings, utilising data analytics tools and software platforms to derive actionable insights and inform decision-making.
 •  Prepare and present technical reports, research findings, and project updates to internal stakeholders, executive leadership, and external audiences as needed.
 •  Excellent report writing skills along with writing research proposals/grant applications, securing funding and establishing partnerships with research institutions and industry organisations.

To be considered, you will possess:
 •  A relevant tertiary qualification (horticulture, agriculture or a related growing field)
 •  Experience in Pipfruit industry, sound knowledge of varieties
 •  Proficiency in scientific research methods, statistical analysis, and data visualisation tools.
 •  Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, essential for team coordination, client management, and relationship cultivation.
 •  Innovativeness, creativity, and a genuine passion for R&D.
