Vacuum Brine Operator

Your main tasks will be…
 •  Work cooperatively with other staff as needed to ensure the whole site works efficiently.
 •  Make sure Vacuum Brine Plant is operated efficiently to achieve optimum results.
 •  Make sure the Vacuum Brine plant is operated safely and specifications are maintained.
 •  Ensure all necessary testing and documentation is completed as required.
 •  Liaise with production and packaging staff regarding Brine system requirements.
 •  Monitor Site Liquid levels and move liquid around site to minimize overflows.
 •  Clean brine tanks and pipelines when needed.
 •  Assist Vacuum refinery with Acid washing the plant when required.
 •  Replace or clean filters, fit other spares as needed, wash and flush plant as required.
 •  Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained (i.e. spills cleaned up and plant kept clean and tidy)
 •  Operate equipment in compliance with plant SOP’s, create maintenance requests when required.
 •  Update SOP’s when required to keep them update with current practices.
 •  Ensure that environmental risk is minimized.
 •  Communicate effectively with other team members.
 •  Complete Permit to Work documentation.
 •  Contribute to training of new Vacuum plant staff in Brine Operations
 •  Other functions and tasks that are reasonably required by supervisors and management.

Attributes:
 •  5 days – 8hours per day. Some extra hours may be required from time to time.
 •  Self-motivated and the ability to multi-task
 •  Organized and forward thinking
 •  Follow instructions and procedures.
 •  Communicate well with your colleagues and managers.
 •  Physically fit – must be able to squat, kneel, and climb stairs.

Prerequisites:
 •  Basic Computer skills
 •  Good verbal and written communication skills
 •  Ability and preparedness to work as part of a team.
 •  Commitment to continuous improvement – in terms of both skill development and work performance.

Highly Desirable:
 •  5+ years’ experience as a plant/process/equipment operator
 •  Possess an eye for detail, is analytical.
 •  Has chemical process knowledge.
 •  Experience in a GMP environment
 •  Experience working in a FSSC 22000 certified environment.
 •  OSH forklift certificate or equivalent
