Transitional Housing Co-Ordinator Gore/Clutha/Dun

This position would suit a highly motivated and experienced person who is driven to support women, children and families experiencing homelessness.
As the primary point of contact, you'll directly support clients, ensuring their safety, health, and overall well-being during their stay in Transitional property. You'll serve as a liaison between clients, services and staff, fostering a supportive environment.
Your responsibilities encompass providing care and support to residents in our diverse Transitional Houses across the Gore, Balclutha and Dunedin area. Additionally the role involves offering ongoing support to ensure the sustainability of housing placements

Duties will also include:
 •  Provide social and emotional support to clients/families.
 •  Assist clients with long-term accommodation goals.
 •  Identify and refer needs to appropriate services.
 •  Conduct regular house inspections and address maintenance.
 •  Compile monthly reports for contract holders.
 •  Submit weekly reports to National Office.
 •  Utilise local knowledge for community connections.
 •  Support clients in developing essential skills such as nutrition, hygiene, and cleaning.
 •  Assist with house viewings and required paperwork.
 •  Foster positive relationships with local services.
 •  Advocate for clients/whanau as needed.
 •  Aid clients with WINZ paperwork.
 •  Provide 24/7 crisis line availability (Staff roster system).
 •  Maintain precise database records.
 •  Offer 3-month post-housing support
 •  Collaborate with client’s judgment-free.
 •  Facilitate Rental Preparation Programmes
 •  Conduct Needs Assessments & Intake procedures.
 •  Collaborate with clients to achieve goals.
 •  Implement a strengths-based approach.

This is a Permanent Full Time Position of 40 hours per week. An appointment is subject to Police vetting. Given the broad territory this role encompasses, we offer some flexibility regarding applicant location.
