This role consists of two fundamental parts and the ideal applicant will feel confident they can accomplish both.
• Managing Operations:
Working closely with Tom and Nev who are the directors of Paddle Board Rotorua, your operations role will include the following:
• Managing online bookings using our automated booking software
• Receiving customer phone calls and placing bookings
• Administering product information
• Maintaining great agent relationships
• Maintaining great staff relationships and setting rosters
• Making direct sales during the course of your activities
• Managing resources for tour operations
The ideal candidate will have some experience in booking management. This experience may not be needed if the applicant has the following skills:
• Great at understanding online platforms
• Has a can-do attitude
• Has positive energy and loves talking to people from all over the world
• Enjoys using all things digital such as phones, computers, iPad, laptops, and has excellent digital administration skills
• Has an administrator’s eye for detail and likes ensuring bookings, and product information is correct
• Enjoys working in a fun team and likes a busy communications lifestyle.
• Guiding:
In addition to running the operations here at PBR, we will require you to be able to run our guided tours when required. All our guides are honest, hard-working, energetic people with a can-do attitude who like making people happy. As a team we are focused, open-minded and self-managed. As a guide you must have the following skills:
• Ability to instruct beginners on how to kayak or paddle board.
• Lead kayak and paddle board tours safely
• Drive manual/automatic vehicles with a passenger endorsement (can be obtained under employment)
• Be an excellent conversationalist and able to establish rapport with anyone from anywhere in the world
• Operate our tours in “high energy” / peak state
• Be physically fit and able to physically move kayaks and paddle boards
• Have attractive energy and presentation, make customers feel awesome and adapt styles to suite clientele
As a guide and an operations manager, an applicant must have or be able to obtain the following qualifications:
• NZ passenger endorsement drivers license
• First Aid Certificate
• Legal right to work in New Zealand
