This is an opportunity to be part of a progressive team based in a modern tertiary hospital.This position is suitable for basic paediatric trainees, or trainees in allied sub-specialties (ED, Anaesthesia) with a special interest in neonatology.


Prior special care nursery experience can be advantageous.The RMO roster dovetails with the neonatal nurse practitioner roster.
This position provides opportunities for the applicant to undertake specific skill acquisition in a subset of neonatal care.
The Neonatal Registrar will be involved in clinical care and educational activities.
Clinical duties will include after-hours duties on the Neonatal unit RMO roster, including nights.
Waikato NICU also runs a retrieval service for the region.Neonatal Services at Waikato Hospital is a 41 bed neonatal unit with 17 level 3 beds, including an isolation room, and provides a range of perinatal and neonatal services including a paediatric surgical service and emergency regional retrieval service.Click here to view the position description.
