Golf Club Manager

We are a golf club of up to 250 members who are based at a beautiful and busy 9-hole municipal parkland course in the Maitai Valley, just minutes from Nelson city. We have our own clubhouse and cottage and are contracted to run the golf course by the Nelson City Council.
We are also the base for a developing recreational hub and a growing range of activities, including mountain biking.
The manager’s role involves acting as club secretary/treasurer, with a focus on maintaining and growing club membership, sponsorship and the club’s profile, promoting the clubhouse, recreational hub and golf course as a venue for hire, dealing and communicating with key groups such as Nelson City Council, Nelson Mountain Bike Club, sponsors, club members and other user groups, and overseeing the golf shop, recreational hub, clubhouse and cottage operations.
It is a crucial leadership position in a club with growth ambitions and requires excellent communication, person to person, organisational, strategic planning and marketing skills and the ability to work closely and harmoniously with the club’s management committee.
You will oversee a small team of staff and a dedicated group of volunteers.
Hours
This is a 30 hours a week, Monday to Friday job, although there will be times when the manager will be required to work additional paid hours during major tournaments, special events and clubhouse functions.
Remuneration: $30 per hour. The job comes with a free club membership.
