Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic
Brookby Quarries Limited is one of Auckland’s prime manufacturing quarries and we have a new opportunity for an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our hard-working, enthusiastic team based at our quarry located in Brookby.
This position is for a full-time person who has proven experience working with Mining/Quarry machinery. Must have a keen eye for detail, self-motivated, organised with relevant Trade Certification. The successful applicant will be working within a team who oversee the day-to-day maintenance & operations of quarry machinery & equipment (excavators, trucks, loaders, crushing machinery).
Main tasks of this role: -- Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy diesel engines and hydraulic systems
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Ability to keep and maintain detailed records of services and repairs performed using a CMMS (MEX) Software
- Identify and request parts as required
- Adhere to safety standards and procedures at all times
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
- Relevant Trade Certification
- Proven experience working with mining/quarry machinery
- Experience with Komatsu machinery preferred but not essential
- Ability to read & interpret technical manuals
- Reliable with good time management
- Pride in quality workmanship
