Abruzzo Italian Restaurant is a well established business that has been in
operation for almost 10 years. We are based in Birkenhead and are currently looking for
experienced Cook to join our team. These positions are full time (usually 40 hours per week
with a guarantee of 30 hours per week) and permanent. Hours of work 3 – 11pm Monday to
Sunday including Public Holidays. Hourly wage $25

We are a busy establishment with an interesting menu therefore experience is essential.
Your duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking Mediterranean/Italian food
- Seasoning and making Mediterranean/Italian food including fresh pasta and pizza
- Portioning food, making dough, making pizzas/pastas, plating and adding ingredients
- Examining food ensuring quality is achieved every time
- Regulating temperatures in ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Storing and packaging food in temperature controlled facilities
- If/when required prepare food in accordance with specific dietary requirements
- Assist with planning menus
- Assist with ordering stock and supplies and estimate requirements if required
- Maintain hygiene
- Assist with selection and training of kitchen staff
- Discuss issues with others including management and work effectively with front of house staff
Requirements for this role:
- at least 2-3 years of relevant work experience
- familiarity and/or experience with European cuisines
- be able and willing to cook in a busy kitchen
- be able to follow health and safety measures at work
- be physically fit – able to stand and work/cook
- have a positive can-do attitude
- reliable and keen to turn up for work
