Fitter Welder - Waikato - Te Awamutu
About the role:
- Stellar Recruitment currently have multiple Fitter Welder positions available in the Waikato region
- Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
- Your ordinary hours of work will be 40 hours per week normally worked between 6:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to work the occasional Saturday.
- $28 to $30 per hour
What you need to be successful in this role:
- You must have at least 2 years of work experience on civil and/or commercial projects . You must
- Knowing, understanding, and complying with Health and Safety rules and regulations
We require a number of Fitter Welder for the preparation and installation of cavities, ducts and pipes for maintenance services in large civil and commercial projects.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Studying and reading blueprints/drawings of lay out accurately
- Drilling and installing metal bolts and brackets for maintenance services including hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
- Checking and fabricating metal parts accurately according to plans.
- Cutting, threading, bending insulating and installing pipes.
- Working at different heights and levels, including overhead ducting.
- Welding of metal ducts and checking welds for quality as required.
- Fitting/installing fire protection systems, sprinkler piping systems, sprinkler heads and related structures.

Our clients currently have projects across the regions of Northland Auckland, Waikato, Taranaki and we aim to place successful candidates into projects within one of these regions based on their place of residence or preference. Daily commuting between regions and projects will not be expected but should projects within a particular region cease, relocation to an alternative region may be required, in which case notice will be given, and relocation policies will apply.
