Auto Electrician - Port of Tauranga Workshop

QM (Quality Marshalling Ltd) is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Port of Tauranga Ltd and specializes in providing cargo handling, and heavy plant mechanical services.

QM is currently seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our busy workshop at the Port of Tauranga Sulphur Point Container Terminal.

This large, modern and well-equipped workshop is responsible for maintaining Port of Tauranga’s large fleet of straddle carriers and QM's own fleet of trucks, trailers and heavy container handling equipment. The workshop operates on a 7-day-a-week basis (Day shift) with staff working a four day on four day off shift structure and a rostered callout system for after hours support.

Requirements for the role include:

A positive attitude and commitment to Health and Safety
Relevant industry mechanical qualifications and experience, preferably with straddles, container lifting machinery and/or heavy mobile plant.
Practical problem-solving skills
Physically fit with the ability to work at a height
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask

A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to work in a team environment

Quality Marshalling is an Alcohol and Drug-free workplace, the successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment medical and drug test.

Ongoing Random Drug and Alcohol testing is conducted at all operations.
