Job Opportunity: Skipper for Fiordland Water Taxis - Invercargill

This full-time summer skippering role gives you the chance to work in one of New Zealand’s most rugged and scenic regions, with plenty of opportunities to get outdoors on your days off. If you enjoy the outdoors and want a job that keeps you close to the action, this could be the role for you.

Fiordland Outdoors offers a variety of skippering locations, cool adventures, top quality gear & an excellent workplace for your summer season. We are a friendly, welcoming, and supportive company dedicated to making outdoor adventures accessible and enjoyable.

We're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Skipper to join our team for the upcoming season (October - May)

About the Role:
As a Skipper with Fiordland Outdoors, you'll enjoy varied days that includes:
  • Transporting Great Walk hikers on Lake Te Anau to the Milford and Kepler Tracks.
  • Undertaking charters for hunters and fishermen.
  • Operating water taxis in the stunning Milford Sound.
  • You'll be working with our fleet of modern water taxis, all equipped with new engines and a variety of boats to suit different needs.
  • 6 days on and 3 day off roster, on a variety of vessels throughout the roster - plenty of time for your own adventures.
Requirements:
  • Must be honest, reliable, and keen to work the full season.
  • Eligible to work in New Zealand.
  • Hold a current Skippers Restricted Limits (SRL) qualification, equivalent or better and ideally have at least 1 year of skippering experience.
  • Full NZ driver license.
  • Willingness to stay overnight in Milford Sound approx. 5 nights every 3 weeks (accommodation and food provided).
