Panel beaters Spray painters /Motor Mechanic

Panel beaters/Spray painters and Motor Mechanics /Mechanical Assistants required for a busy South Auckland Workshop (x4)

All candidates must:

• Be fit & strong with a solid work ethic
• Happy to work in a team in all-weather condition.
• Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Be able to start at 8.00 AM daily and available to work on weekends if required
• No qualification required as 2 years of work experience is required as a Panel Beater /Painter

77A Shirley Road, Papatoetoe, Auckland and around Auckland Region if required for breakdowns for emergency situations or vehicle pick up or drop off to the work site

• Aligning and reshaping panels
• Cutting, welding and replacing panels
• Structural repairs
• Follow a quality control process, including checking for imperfections and resolving them
• Performing daily cleaning of work areas prior to leaving for the day
• Working together as a team to ensure any issues are resolved

• removing rough spots on vehicle panels
• sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders
• masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper
• colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint
• applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
• touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles
• removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
• painting signs and artwork on vehicles
• treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals

• Assessing mechanical work and diagnosing problems
• Giving quotes for mechanical repairs
• Doing mechanical repairs of Diesel and petrol vehicles
• Engine tune ups of Diesel and petrol vehicles
• Diagnose and troubleshoot non EFI systems of vehicles
• Repair EFI vehicles
• Undertake repairs of non EFI vehicles
• Order parts as per required for repair work
• Undertake and other tasks as assigned by the managing Director from time to time, relate to mechanical field

• Assists Motor Mechanics to replace and repair worn and defective parts
• Re-assemble mechanical components
• Change oil and filters
• Perform other routine mechanical tasks
• Clean up after every shift making sure all tools and equipment are accounted for

Full training provided and no experience necessary for mechanics assistants.

• Guaranteed minimum 30 hours of work

• Wage between $29.66 - $32.00 depending on work experience
