Fitter Welder / Welder Fabricator
You must be able to fabricate and weld, with minimum level being able to hold structural qualifications, and preferred level being able to hold ASME IX qualifications.
The role is based out of our workshop in Pandora, Napier. The work with NEC is varied – we manufacture and service our own range of NIVEN branded meat processing equipment, service general equipment for many of the major companies in Hawkes Bay, provide services to the marine sector, and undertake site based project works.

- A Trade Qualification in Fitter/Welder or Welder Fabricator (or similar) & minimum 10 years experience (we are looking for someone who can go to a job site on their own, logically think through problems and provide solutions).
- You must be confident and efficient in both fabrication and welding
- You must be comfortable working both in the workshop and on site, including welding all position in stick, MIG and TIG.
- You must be able to pass a structural weld qualification, and preferably ASME IX qualification (6G)
- As a minimum you must be able to weld carbon steel, but preferably also stainless steel.
- Able to read shop drawings, and fabricate per the details (without requiring supervisor input)
- Able to work on local sites, with occasional away trips.
- Our work is varied - you will be required to assist with basic fitting duties from time to time. Our strong preference is for someone with fitting or maintenance background.
- Be able to speak and understand English (to a level you can understand instructions and converse with other staff without misunderstanding)
- Must be able to represent yourself and the company in good standing on client sites
- Overtime rates (1.5x) paid after 44 hours. Regular overtime is available.
- NZ full license (or similar - must be legally able to drive company vehicles)
