Christchurch - Duty Manager / Barista – Spanish speaking Café

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Duty Manager / Barista to join our team. The successful applicant will oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, prepare high-quality coffee, and ensure our customers enjoy an exceptional cultural dining experience.

• Oversee café operations and staff during shifts
• Prepare high-quality coffee using a manual espresso machine
• Manage stock, reservations, and compliance with food safety and licensing requirements
• Provide outstanding customer service in both English and Spanish
• Handle customer feedback professionally and in a culturally sensitive manner
• Support front-of-house and kitchen teams as required

• To be considered for this role, you will have:
• Fluent Spanish language skills (spoken and written) – required
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a managerial or supervisory hospitality role
• Proven barista skills, including manual espresso machine operation
• Knowledge of Latin American or Spanish cuisine and hospitality culture
• Current Manager’s Certificate and LCQ, or willingness to obtain
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays
