The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, load, and unload goods and materials within the warehouse, storage yard, or other designated areas. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth flow of goods and maintaining an organized and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Safe Operation of Forklifts: Operate various types of forklifts (counterbalance, reach truck, order picker) in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all company policies and safety regulations.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles accurately and efficiently.
  • Material Handling and Stacking: Move and stack materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper placement and stability.
  • Order Picking and Packing: Assist with order picking processes by retrieving items from storage using the forklift and preparing them for shipment. May involve some packing duties.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with inventory counts and ensure that stock is correctly identified and located within the warehouse.
  • Pre-Start Checks and Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-start checks on the forklift, ensuring it is in safe working order. Report any maintenance issues or defects to the supervisor immediately.
  • Warehouse Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the designated forklift operating areas.
  • Adherence to Procedures: Follow established warehouse procedures for receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with other warehouse staff, drivers, workmates and supervisors regarding the movement of goods.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Policy: Ensure all staff & contractors are actively aware of and obeying AGVANCE H&S Policies, ISO standards and best practices
  • Other Duties: Perform other warehouse and factory related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential:
  • Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, logistics, factory or similar environment with a minimum 3 years’ experience.
  • Current and valid Forklift Operator Certificate / OSH Certificate.
  • Strong understanding of forklift safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Good communication skills.
Hours 42.5 per week
Days 7.30 to 4pm Monday to Friday

Some overtime maybe required occasional Saturday work

$31.66 per hour
Minimum 40 hours per week

Must pass a drug and alcohol test pre and intermittent post-employment testing.
