About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Booking Clerk/Administrator to join the Oncology Service (80 hours per fortnight). Hours of work are 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday. This role is essential in assisting with the smooth running of the cancer outpatient services.

Key responsibilities:

  • Booking outpatient appointments
  • Attending and departing patients
  • Communication with staff, patients and their families
  • Telephone enquiries and general reception duties
  • Organisation and distribution of patient documentation
  • Maintaining accurate computer records
  • Administration duties as required

About the Service

The Waikato Regional Cancer Centre is located in the metropolis of Hamilton, New Zealand. This unit serves a population of 550,000, has a staff of approximately 120 and comprises of an Oncology Department which includes Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy outpatient treatment areas, an Inpatient Ward, Palliative Care Service and a Haematology Outpatient Department.

About you

Required skills experience you will need to be considered for this role:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Organised, efficient and able to prioritise their workload effectively
  • Exceptional at customer service via the telephone with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Computer literate
  • Familiar with medical terminology
  • A positive team member

Ideally you will have some general reception and customer service experience, have a minimum of 3 years' experience in the health sector, and have excellent computer and typing skills. If you are a team player who is adaptable with a great sense of humour and warm personality we would like to hear from you.
