Bakery Cafe Manager

This is a hands-on leadership role with strong emphasis on:
  • Front of house service excellence
  • Barista quality and beverage consistency

  • Customer experience and operational performance

Key Responsibilities

Front of House & Service Leadership
  • Oversee daily café operations and ensure smooth service flow
  • Lead and supervise front-of-house team members
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and presentation
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Monitor service speed and workflow optimization
Barista & Beverage Operations
  • Prepare high-quality espresso-based coffee and hot beverages
  • Train staff in coffee extraction, milk texturing, and consistency
  • Maintain coffee machine calibration and hygiene standards
  • Manage beverage stock control and ordering
Team Management & Compliance
  • Roster management and labour cost control
  • Staff recruitment, onboarding and training
  • Performance management and coaching
  • Ensure compliance with Food Control Plan and health & safety regulations
  • Maintain workplace documentation and reporting
Business Performance
  • Implement service improvements to increase revenue
  • Support marketing and local promotional initiatives
Skills & Experience Required
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in café or hospitality management
  • Strong barista skills with demonstrated espresso knowledge
  • Proven leadership and team supervision experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment
  • Sound understanding of stock control and cost management
  • Availability to work weekends and public holidays

Relevant qualification in hospitality management is preferred but not mandatory with sufficient industry
