Bakery Cafe Manager
Queenstown
This is a hands-on leadership role with strong emphasis on:
- Front of house service excellence
- Barista quality and beverage consistency
- Team leadership and staff training
- Customer experience and operational performance
Key Responsibilities
Front of House & Service Leadership- Oversee daily café operations and ensure smooth service flow
- Lead and supervise front-of-house team members
- Maintain high standards of customer service and presentation
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
- Monitor service speed and workflow optimization
- Prepare high-quality espresso-based coffee and hot beverages
- Train staff in coffee extraction, milk texturing, and consistency
- Maintain coffee machine calibration and hygiene standards
- Manage beverage stock control and ordering
- Roster management and labour cost control
- Staff recruitment, onboarding and training
- Performance management and coaching
- Ensure compliance with Food Control Plan and health & safety regulations
- Maintain workplace documentation and reporting
- Implement service improvements to increase revenue
- Support marketing and local promotional initiatives
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in café or hospitality management
- Strong barista skills with demonstrated espresso knowledge
- Proven leadership and team supervision experience
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment
- Sound understanding of stock control and cost management
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays
Relevant qualification in hospitality management is preferred but not mandatory with sufficient industry
