  • Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleWe are looking for a psychologist to join the well-established Paediatric Psychology team in Children's Outpatients, Dunedin Hospital.

This position would be suited to a psychologist who is registered as a clinical, child and family, or educational psychologist.We work with tamariki and rangitahi up to 16 years old and their whānau, completing comprehensive developmental and behavioural assessments.

We also support children and young people who have chronic medical conditions.
We work closely alongside the wider Children's Health team and Child Development Service.
This is a large team including Paediatricians, Nurses, Social Workers, Dietitians, Autism/Developmental Co-ordinator, Healthcare Assistant, Speech-language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Physiotherapists.
We also work closely with education and a variety of community services.The Clinical Psychology team provides services to the whole of the Southern region; therefore, the successful applicant will be required to travel as part of the role.
This may also involve an overnight stay.Assistance with relocation may be available for successful candidates on a case-by-case basis.A current, full driver's licence is essential.View position descriptionAbout youProven competence, knowledge, and skills in clinical and neuro psychology with a strong knowledge of relevant and appropriate psychological assessments and evidenced based interventionsCurrent registration with the NZ Psychologists Board and a current Annual Practicing Certificate with a Clinical Scope of PracticeDemonstrated commitment to clinical and professional development, including continuous learning and updating of skills and knowledgeMotivated team player with exceptional communication and time management skillsSalary rangeThis role belongs to the DHBs/APEX Psychologists Multi-Employer Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($85,000 p.a) and Step 10 ($130,000 p.a pro rata).Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand
