Paediatric Occupational Therapist

We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Specialist Occupational Therapist for a rewarding part-time contract role. You will work within two South Auckland school settings, supporting students with diverse and complex needs. This role focuses on enhancing students' functional abilities, independence, and access to education.

- Key Responsibilities include Assessments - Conducting specialised OT assessments for students with wide-ranging conditions.
- Intervention - Delivering tailored therapy for conditions including profound Autism, Cerebral Palsy, and Down Syndrome.
- Collaboration - Working alongside SLT and PT, Teaching Staff and Learning Assistants to integrate therapy goals into daily school routines.
- Equipment Provision - Assessment for aids for daily living and classroom seating, as well as specialised school equipment.
- Reporting - Maintaining of accurate clinical notes and contributing to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and specialist reports.
- Qualifications - Applicants must currently reside in New Zealand and have current registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of New Zealand (OTBNZ) and a valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC).
- Experience - Proven post-graduate experience in paediatric occupational therapy, specifically with complex neurodevelopmental and neurodiverse conditions is essential. Additional skills required include strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with school staff, families, and external agencies.
