Finance Administrator part time 3.5 -4 hrs a week

We are seeking a friendly, self-motivated and responsive Finance Administrator to join our team at Papamoa East Anglican Church. This is a permanent part time position working 3.5 to 4 hours a week which will include reporting to the Church Committee on the first Sunday of each month at 10.30am.

You do not have to be an Anglican to apply for this role; however, you must have Christian principles and an ethos of care, respect and equity.

The role is responsible for undertaking all of the financial and administrative aspects of the Parish finances, including accounts payable and receivable, banking reconciliations and financial reporting.

The right person will be an experienced finance administrator, with excellent computer skills, along with exceptional relationship skills to work positively and effectively with our diverse clergy and people from our faith community. Some familiarity with church organisation and worship would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities
  • Accounting and banking of all monies received through the operation of the Parish including Opportunity Shop reconciliations, Givings, Koha for premises use of our Church and funeral payments and records.
  • Receipt and coding of creditor invoices
  • Management and reconciliation of imprest and petty cash accounts
  • Financial reporting including monthly payments and banking summaries
  • Annual tax EOY receipts for parishioners
Skills required
  • Previous experience in banking, reconciliations, accounts payable and/or receivable
  • Excellent excel and word skills
  • Ability to communicate with a diverse group of people
  • Self-motivated, reliable and good time management
