We’re a well-established shed company specializing in steel structures – and We are seeking an experienced and skilled Builder who can also take on a Site Foreman responsibility. This dual-role position requires both hands-on building expertise and strong leadership skills to manage daily construction activities, ensuring site safety, quality, and efficiency.

• Carry out a wide range of construction tasks including framing, foundation work, structural works, and general carpentry.
• Oversee daily site operations including worker supervision, task delegation, and time management.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely project delivery.
• Enforce Health & Safety regulations and maintain a clean, hazard-free worksite.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring all work is completed to standard.
• Maintain daily site reports, monitor project progress, and escalate issues or delays when required.
• Supervise and maintain quality workmanship.
• Assist with managing tools, equipment, and material deliveries on site.
• Represent the company professionally when liaising with clients, consultants, and inspectors

• Full-time role, approximately 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with flexibility depending on project demands.
• We travel between multiple sites – out of town as we cover South Canterbury – Otago

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in construction.
• LBP (Licensed Building Practitioner) required.
• Strong knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Health & Safety practices.
• Proven ability to supervise and lead a small team of builders or labourers.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of site operations.
• Full NZ driver’s license required.
• Own basic tools and transport to the yard. (depending on your location this might not be needed to come right tot he yard)

• Competitive pay rate: $37–$40 per hour
• Company work Ute - after 3 months
• 3 weeks time off over Christmas

• Mostly home each night, with some stay aways depending on location and where the job is sitting time frame wise.
