About the Role This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a midwifery-led environment where autonomy, partnership, and whānau-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.We are looking to recruit a Health Care Assistant Staff Support (HCASS) to join us in the Kenepuru Maternity Unit.
The Health Care Assistant is an integral member of the Maternity team. As the successful applicant you'll have the ability to communicate effectively. You will be able to prioritise tasks either working autonomously or under the delegation/direction of a Registered Midwife/Nurse.
This position offers variety in a sometimes hectic environment. In this non-clinical/hospitality support role you will be tasked with tidying and the restocking of clinical areas and supplies, preparing rooms, reception and clerical support, maintaining clinical equipment and a clean environment.
Although you will not be providing patient cares you will be able to interact with women and their whanau ensuring their needs are met. We have a high percentage of Maori and Pacific women and families that utilise the Unit. We have 6 postnatal rooms and 2 birthing rooms. We are a busy unit with a supportive and friendly team of Midwives and Nurses who would welcome you into our team.
We have a close working relationship with our community midwifery colleagues. About youExperience preferred but not essential. You will have well developed organisational and interpersonal skills Being able to work as part of a Woman focused team.
