About the Role (your why)

Our consultants are doing just that as trusted advisors providing thought leadership and expertise in cloud use transparency, cost efficiency, governance, and cultural change.

This is a mid-level role that will provide training and support to kick off or further your FinOps career. You will have access top training platforms, decades of experience within the team and practical opportunities to test and refine your FinOps skills.

As a Cloud Financial Consultant, you will support our customer engagements, assessing their needs, assisting in the development and implementation of a CFM roadmap, and guiding our customers in meeting their FinOps Goals.

Our offices are based in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

What you’ll do

At the moment, as Cloud Financial Consultant you will be focused on:

  • Be a trusted advisor for how best to manage and mature our customer's CFM practice
  • Guide and inspire our customers on how to meet their Cloud management goals
  • Lead workshops, training, business process design and governance content creation
  • Participate in continuous improvement of our products and service delivery
  • Own the end-to-end customer outcome

What you’ll bring

Required experience:

  • You'll be an aspiring Cloud Native who understands and is inspired by the benefits of Cloud, emerging technology, automation, and enabling a FinOps culture.
  • Have exposure to Public Cloud financial and technical concepts and cloud delivery models.
  • Have 2+ years' experience in a similar customer facing or end user aligned role, e.g. Software Asset Management, Capacity Management, IT Asset management, or IT governance
  • Understand Business and Commercial concepts e.g. corporate structure, Capex/Opex reporting requirements, commercial agreements, budget/forecast and planning strategy etc...

Nice to have:

  • Have worked with Cloud Native and 3rd Party Cloud Platform Management tooling, e.g. AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Cloudhealth, Cloudability etc...
  • Understand of cloud cost and usage optimisation and cloud governance.
  • Have 1+ years of experience working with Cloud Commercials and AWS or/and Azure.
  • Have 1+ Years of managing client engagements or managing cloud estates for an end-user company
