Solid Waste Team Member
If you are looking for an on-call role that is outdoors and involves physically hard work, you may be interested in this role with the Kawerau District Council.
Casual staff are needed to help out in our Solid Waste Team to provide cover when our permanent staff are on leave, particularly with the recycle collections, which run on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of each week. Tasks the Solid Waste Team are responsible for include collecting and processing recycling, general sorting of recyclables, assisting with processing of green waste and recyclables, and assisting in the Transfer Station Kiosk, all as part of Council’s Zero Waste Policy.
You will need to be physically fit and prepared to work in an outdoor environment. Our team works hard together to serve the Kawerau Community and protect the environment. A Class 1 Drivers’ Licence is required, and a Class 2 License would be an advantage.
Please note: Kawerau District Council has an active Drug and Alcohol Policy. Candidates will be required to undertake a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol testing, and Ministry of Justice vetting.
