Disability Support Worker

This is a 3-month fixed-term role with the possibility of extension by mutual agreement, offering meaningful work supporting people with disabilities in their daily lives.

About the Role

• Week One: Two 4-hour shifts during the week (Monday–Friday). Days are flexible and can be agreed upon to suit circumstances.
• Week Two: Saturday shift, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Location: Residential home in New Brighton, Christchurch.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal care support
• General household duties such as cleaning, washing, laundry, food preparation, tidying, vacuuming, and dusting
• Engaging positively with people with disabilities
• Driving duties, including dropping off and picking up from education facilities

• Be committed to working within the company’s mission and vision
• Have a strong work ethic and respectful attitude
• Be honest, reliable, professional, and motivated
• Have good communication and basic keyboard skills
• Be able to work independently when required
• Adapt well to change and new environments
• Have a genuine interest in helping others
• Be in good health with a reasonable level of fitness
• Hold a full New Zealand driver’s licence
