Heavy Machine Operator - Southland

About the role:

• Stellar Recruitment currently have multiple Heavy Machine Operator positions available in the Southland region.
• Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
• Your ordinary hours of work will be 40 hours per week normally worked between 6:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to work the occasional Saturday.
• $29.50 - $38.00 per hour

What you need to be successful in this role:

• You must have at least 1 years of relevant work experience
• You must be able to work within the timeframe of the project and be a reliable member of the team.
• Knowing, understanding, communicating, and ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety regulations
• Experience in the earthmoving sector with experience operating dozers, diggers, graders and scrapers
• Candidates who can operate GPS machines and do everything from bulk earthmoving, trenching, digging and final trim finished will be looked upon favourably.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Conduct bulk excavation works
• Load Trucks
• Dig trenches
• Batter trimmings
• Operate a variety of power and hand tools
• Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored
• Assess, identify and notify Supervisor or any technical issues
• Operate various items of plant and ancillary equipment as required by Supervisor, including but not limited to excavators, loaders, dozers, dump trucks and other associated machinery
