Join our dedicated EmergencyMental Health service and be part of a team that provides immediate,compassionate, and skilled care to people experiencing acute mental healthissues.About the roleEmergency Mental Health provides 24-hour assessment, treatmentand support for people experiencing serious mental health issues.The teamcomprises of Registered Nurse, Allied Health, Psychology and Medicalprofessionals and is supported by a strong and dynamic multi-disciplinaryleadership group.We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic registerednurses to join our team.
In this role you will:Provide timely mental health assessments, crisisinterventions and short-term intensive treatmentWork collaboratively with service users, whanau/families,and partner agencies to ensure safe and effective careWork in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment where notwo days are the sameSkills and ExperienceRegistered Nurse with current APC and mental health scopeHave a full New Zealand driver's licenseExperience in mental health settings preferred (ideally incrisis or acute areas).
However, support and education will be provided for theright candidateSkilled in risk assessment, crisis intervention and de-escalationAble to remain calm, compassionate and solution focusedunder pressureA strong communicator who thrives in a team but can alsowork autonomouslyKnowledge of and a commitment to Te Tiriti o WaitangiIdeally you will be a Duly Authorised Officer who has beentrained and signed off as being able facilitate the MHA, if not currently a DAOapplicants for this position will be willing to undertake this paid three dayDAO training as provided by the Waitaha Canterbury.Working at Health New ZealandHealth New Zealand | Te Whatu Orais dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
