Health Care Assistant - Meade Clinical Centre Outpatients

  • Permanent, Part-time 0.8 FTE (64 hours per fortnight)
  • Rostered shifts Monday Sunday, 0800 - 1630

About the Role

Meade Clinical Centre outpatient clinics is seeking a motivated, progressive and flexible Health Care Assistant to support outpatient clinics. This role would suit a person looking for variety in their work and enjoys interacting with people.

Your responsibilities as a Health Care Assistant will be to provide patient care, support patient flow and assist with tasks delegated by a registered nurse, as well as support the nursing team to deliver a clean, safe and tidy environment for patients and staff.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement. Additional benefits include kiwisaver contributions (if eligible), shift allowances on weekends, professional development and wellness support.

The Meade Clinical Centre is comprised of a diverse range of specialty outpatient clinics, and services up to 900 patients per day. You will be part of a large, supportive team working in a world class primary healthcare facility, where teamwork, innovation, and creativity is valued, and our role in healthcare and the people we provide care to are our top priority.

About you

The Health Care Assistant we are looking for will demonstrate:

  • work positively in a team environment and be motivated to support a caring environment
  • provide care delegated by a registered nurse or a medical professional
  • experience in providing services for people, preferably in healthcare
  • excellent time management and able to use their initiative
  • advanced interpersonal and communication skills
  • prioritisation and problem solving skills
  • proficiency with computers technology
  • availability to work across all days of the week, Monday - Sunday
