Site Manager - Plastering and Painting

At a high level the Site Manager is tasked with leading on-site operations and ensuring our projects are completed safely, on time, on budget and to the highest standards.

Position Overview:

The Site Manager will oversee daily operations at various job sites, ensuring that AAC Panel, painting and plastering projects are executed efficiently and professionally. This role involves managing teams, supervising staff, coordinating with clients and subcontractors, sound communication skills, conflict resolution, maintaining site safety, and ensuring quality control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Confidently convey support and direction through the lens of a technical advisor
  • Oversee and coordinate daily site activities for all projects
  • Manage site crews, including painters, plasterers, labourers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure safe and efficient practices on site and in doing so always safeguarding our reputation and brand
  • Deliver onsite management including but not limited to prestarts, onsite customer support, team meetings to discuss onsite matters, manage and measure variations, when required deliver materials to site to ensure work continuity
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the required standards
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution
  • Conduct site inspections and monitor quality of workmanship and materials
  • Enforce health & safety standards and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Maintain site documentation, including timesheets, delivery logs, and site diaries
  • Conduct job sign offs on time to ensure timely invoicing and payment of work completed
  • Resolve any issues or delays on site promptly and professionally
  • Order and manage materials and equipment for site needs
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings with on-site teams
  • Partner with Project Manager to ensure measures are completed for potential new work/quoting and referencing industry experience
  • Support recruitment of new staff as and when required
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a site manager, foreperson, or supervisor in the painting/plastering or construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of painting and plastering techniques, materials, and tools
  • Strong knowledge of AAC Panel - Specialized and Rockcote Systems
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications
  • Solid understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Licensed Building Practitioner (LBP) certificate in External Plastering
  • Valid NZ driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Trade qualification in painting, plastering, or construction (LBP) (essential)
  • First Aid Certification
  • Site Wise Certification (preferred)
  • Experience using project management software or job tracking apps
