Bookstore Sales Assistant - Full-time

We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic person to join our bookstore team full-time. We sell books, stationery, cards, magazines, gifts, Lotto and have a NZ Post Centre in the Golden Centre Mall. We are 7 day a week business so you must be available for weekend work.

• Assist customers in finding books and recommending titles.
• Keep shelves stocked, tidy and well presented.
• Handle sales transactions and operate the sales till, which includes Lotto.
• Occasionally assist with pricing books.
• Help with displays, events and other store activities.
• Share your enjoyment of reading with customers and colleagues.

• A genuine interest in books and reading. Knowledge in a variety of genres would be helpful too.
• A versatile person with a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
• Someone strong in customer service skills and able to engage with many different people.
• Someone that is neatly presented and reliable.
• Relevant retail or customer service experience would be great, but not essential - full training is provided.
• An ability to work with a team as well as independently in, at times, a very busy environment.
