Class 5 Driver - Refrigerated Transport

Urgent Cool Logistics is seeking a reliable and professional Class 5 Driver to join our team on our dedicated Palmerston North to Wellington refrigerated freight route. This is a permanent, full-time position operating Sunday through Friday on night shift, delivering fresh produce to supermarkets throughout the Wellington region.

• Safely operate Class 5 refrigerated vehicles on regular Palmerston North to Wellington route
• Load and unload freight using forklift
• Deliver fresh produce to supermarkets and retail customers throughout Wellington region
• Operate forklift at delivery locations where required for unloading
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
• Maintain temperature integrity of refrigerated loads throughout transport and delivery
• Complete accurate documentation including delivery dockets, temperature logs, and vehicle checks
• Provide professional, courteous service to customers during deliveries
• Ensure timely deliveries to meet customer and supermarket receiving schedules
• Adhere to all road transport regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies
• Maintain clean and presentable vehicle at all times
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding any issues or delays

What You'll Need

• Current Class 5 driver's license (full, unrestricted)
• Clean driving record with no serious traffic violations
• Minimum 2 years' experience driving Class 5 vehicles
• Current forklift license with solid operating experience - you'll be loading/unloading your own truck
• Experience with refrigerated freight (highly desirable)
• Supermarket delivery experience (desirable but not essential)
• Physically fit - able to handle loading/unloading and pallet jack operation
• Excellent time management and ability to work independently
• Professional presentation and strong customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to safety
• Available to work Sunday through Friday night shifts
• Comfortable working night hours consistently

• Experience delivering to major supermarket chains (desirable but not essential)
• Knowledge of Wellington delivery routes
• Understanding of food safety and temperature control requirements
