Welder - Auckland

We are working alongside a Tier 1 civil contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure and construction solutions across New Zealand.

We are currently seeking a skilled Welder/Fabricator proficient in TIG and Stick welding to join our operations team and contribute to a variety of structural and civil works projects.

• Perform TIG and Stick welding on structural steel, pipework, and other components as required for civil infrastructure projects.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment from technical drawings and site specifications.
• Operate workshop tools, including grinders, saws, and cutting torches.
• Ensure work is completed to required specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
• Follow health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times on-site and in the workshop.
• Collaborate with site supervisors, engineers, and other trades to complete tasks efficiently.
• Assist in site installations and repairs as required.

Requirements:

• New Zealand trained Welder/Fabricator
• Minimum 3 years Welding/Fabricating experience in New Zealand
• Perform TIG and Stick welding on structural steel, pipework, and other components as required for civil infrastructure projects.
• Fabricate and assemble metal structures and equipment from technical drawings and site specifications.
• Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings and plans.
• Ability to fabricate, cut, and weld structural steel and pipe to civil engineering specifications.
• Familiar with working in both workshop and on-site environments.
• Strong understanding of welding safety and PPE requirements.
• Relevant welding qualifications or certifications (e.g. AS/NZS 1554 or equivalent).

We are offering permanent, and fixed-term roles in the Auckland region. We will only consider candidates who have New Zealand based welding experience. The pay rate will be dependent on experience and current licenses held.
