Delivery Driver

NZ Post is about delivery – delivering parcels, packages and mail for businesses and consumers.

We provide our sending and receiving customers with services to help them communicate and do business.

• Wages - $24-$30/hour
• Working Hours - Min 30 hrs/week

• Level 4 is required.
• OR one year of experience is required.

Job Duties

• To unload, sort and load freight received in the depot as required
• To carry out pickups and deliveries to and from customers as per the timetable requirements or as directed by the staff to the residential and business areas
• To scan all freight in accordance with the policies and procedures
• To manage, acknowledge and collect all requests for Adhoc freight collections in accordance with company Procedures
• To complete the appropriate run sheets and documentation as required
• To ensure the sale of courier labels and satchels to customers is in accordance with company policies and procedures
• To regularly wash and maintain the motor vehicle which will be provided. Any damage to the vehicle must be reported to the Director.
• To ensure that customers are satisfied with the services and listen to their complaints if any
• To undertake training as and when provided by Management.
• Undertake other tasks as directed by the Director from time to time

• Be fit, healthy and agile. This is a physical position involving a lot of getting in and out of a van, running round, and heavy lifting, (up to 25 kg). For this reason you must be physically capable, and then able to sustain this over an up to 10-12 hour day.
• Have a full and clean, valid NZ/overseas equivalent driver's licence, and be able/licensed to drive a manual vehicle.
• Able to pass a drug test

• Good time management

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid work visa.

The successful applicant should be able to start working in our Whakatane depot.
