Spray Painter - Canterbury - Christchurch

About the role:

• Stellar Recruitment currently have multiple Spray Painter positions available in the Canterbury region.
• Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
• Your ordinary hours of work will be 40 hours per week normally worked between 6:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to work the occasional Saturday.
• $28-$32 per hour

What you need to be successful in this role:

• You must have at least 2 years of relevant work experience. You must be able to work within the timeframe of the project and be a reliable member of the team.
• Knowing, understanding, communicating, and ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and company safety policies and procedures.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Grinding, sanding and cleaning surfaces of items to be painted
• Loading paint, oil, lacquer, varnish and rustproofing agents into spray equipment
• Connecting hoses to spray equipment and adjusting spray nozzles to required pressure
• Securing items to be sprayed within spray booths or placing them onto conveyors
• Directing spray guns to apply even coatings
• Ensuring the worksite is left prepared and tidy for the next work day

Our clients currently have projects across the regions of Wellington, Nelson, Canterbury, Otago, Hawkes Bay and we aim to place successful candidates into projects within one of these regions based on their place of residence or preference. Daily commuting between regions and projects will not be expected but should projects within a particular region cease, relocation to an alternative region may be required, in which case notice will be given, and relocation policies will apply.
