Senior Beef Finishing Specialist - Omamari Farm - Kaikohe
The Opportunity**
Are you looking to strengthen your animal management skills and learn more about running your own block, Join Omamari farm, and develop and grow your skillset as a Senior Beef Finishing Specialist supported by the Farm Manager.
You’ll learn and develop your pasture and animal management skills within a supportive team. As one of our Bull Beef Finishing Specialists, you’ll monitor live weight production and proactively manage pastures and farm maintenance.
This role gives you the opportunity to get comfortable with Pamu systems and processes, as well as farming software like TruTest and FarmIQ for data recording, and Farmax for planning, you must be
tech friendly to be happy in this role.
**The Farm**
Omamari is 1600ha effective hill country farm, specialising in Beef Production. We are currently hoping to finish 2800 predominantly Friesian Bulls annually.
Omamari station is located in a beautiful setting just 25 minutes from Kai Iwi Lakes and Ripiro Beach. With Dargaville, only 20 minutes away, primary and secondary schooling are located nearby with the school bus at the gate. And there is plenty of hunting and fishing in the area.
**About You**
Are you passionate about farming and ready to take ownership of a high-performing beef finishing system. You’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of farm operations.
You’ll ideally have:- A genuine interest in intensive farming and beef finishing systems
- Strong pasture and animal husbandry skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- A proactive approach to health, safety, and animal welfare
- Good attention to detail and record-keeping
- Willingness to learn and grow within a supportive team environment
