Then Christchurch Methodist Mission (CMM) is a social service agency of Te Hahi Weteriana o Aotearoa with responsibility for services throughout Te Patiki Whakatekateka o Waitaha (Canterbury), Te Tai Poutini (West Coast) and Te Tau Ihu (upper South Island).
Our kaupapa serves the youngest to oldest members of our community through early childhood education, social work and psychological support in schools and homes, financial mentoring, housing and homelessness services and WesleyCare our home for kaumatua.With over 300 kaimahi we have an amazing amount of skills to help strengthen our communities.

WesleyCare is a 108 room home offering rest home and hospital level care, respite and palliative care.
Te Tunga | the role
As a WesleyCare Cook you will support residents’ wellbeing by preparing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet individual dietary needs and cultural preferences. The position exists to ensure residents receive safe, high-quality food that contributes to their health, comfort, and overall quality of life.The cook also helps create a warm, homelike environment by maintaining high standards of hygiene, working collaboratively with all staff, and adapting meals to support residents’ changing health conditions.
Nau te rourou | what you will bring
A level 4 or level 5 Cookery qualification and proven experience and ability to:
- provide nutritional dietary met food for residents
- work in a fast past kitchen with exceptional food standard skills
- collaboration with other staff and ability to provide guidance on food preparation as required
- willingness to get stuck in and assist wherever needed
- ability to follow food handling procedures to ensure compliance with hygiene standards.
