Receptionist – Be the Friendly Face of Hotel Waterloo & Backpackers!

We’re looking for a warm, organised and reliable Receptionist to join our Front Office team at Hotel Waterloo and Backpackers in the heart of Wellington. If you love helping people, enjoy variety in your day, and thrive in a busy, social environment, this could be the perfect role for you.

As our Receptionist, you’ll be the first person our guests meet – and the one they remember when they leave. From welcoming travellers with a smile to making check-in and check-out a breeze, you’ll play a key role in creating an outstanding experience from start to finish.

You’ll handle reservations, take phone calls and emails, and make sure every booking is processed smoothly. Guests will turn to you for help with directions, recommendations, and special requests – and you’ll love going the extra mile to make their stay memorable.

No two days will look the same. One moment you’ll be balancing accounts and processing payments, the next you might be helping a guest with their luggage or supporting other departments to get rooms ready. Flexibility is important, as you’ll be working a mix of day and evening shifts, with the chance to cover occasional nights as well.

We’re after someone with previous reception or hospitality experience, ideally in a hotel. If you’re friendly, professional, love working with people, and have a keen eye for detail, you’ll fit right in. Strong communication skills and confidence on the phone are a must, and you’ll enjoy being part of a supportive, hard-working team.
