The Role
We’re looking for an Intermediate Full Stack Developer with a front-end focus to join our team in Auckland. You’ll play a key role in designing and building intuitive, performant, and reliable interfaces that clinicians use in high-pressure hospital environments.While the role is front-end heavy, you’ll also contribute to back-end services and integrations that support these applications. Developers are also expected to actively participate in higher tier application support response.
As a small and growing company, the ideal candidate for this role would have an interest in gaining exposure to other areas of the business. Depending on your interests, you could learn and contribute to areas such as cyber security governance and control, cloud infrastructure operations, and systems administration.
This is a hybrid role: you’ll be working alongside our lead developer in Auckland 3 days per week, and 2 days per week remote.
What You’ll Do- Build and maintain engaging, responsive front-end applications for clinicians.
- Work with modern frameworks to deliver highly usable interfaces (React + TanStack Query/Router/DB).
- Contribute to mobile app development (React Native, Swift) where needed.
- Connect front-end components to secure and scalable back-end services.
- Ensure usability, accessibility, and performance are prioritised in all features.
- Participate in code reviews, and collaborative design sessions.
- 3+ years of experience as a full stack or front-end developer.
- Strong skills with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (React preferred; Angular or Vue also valued).
- Experience with state/data management libraries and query frameworks (e.g. TanStack Query).
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design best practices.
- Comfort with back-end development in Node.js, .NET, Java or similar.
- Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL).
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Daily work will be in the macOS / iOS ecosystem — familiarity with Apple’s ecosystem of products is required.
- Mobile app development experience (React Native, Swift).
- Familiarity with the TanStack ecosystem (Router, DB).
- Exposure to healthcare software or enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (FHIR, HL7).
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Hybrid working model: 3 days in-person in our Auckland office, 2 days remote.
