About Us

Magenta Creative Space is a fully resourced Art-Studio space. We offer a safe, accepting and pressure-free environment for people within the Whakatu Nelson community who have lived experience of mental distress.

The Role

We're seeking an experienced strategic leader to guide our organisation's delivery and sustainability. Reporting directly to the board, you'll be the vital link between governance and operations, driving our mission forward through strategic fundraising, financial oversight, and external relationship building.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the writing of funding applications and other funding initiatives to support our programs
  • Manage budgets and ensure financial alignment with service delivery
  • Carry out all financial operations including invoicing, accounts payable, and Xero coding
  • Develop and maintain strategic external relationships and partnerships
  • Provide strategic advice to the board and implement governance decisions
  • Significant role on the management team, and managing direct reporting from the Head Tutor
  • Contribute to service delivery through occasional tutoring when available
About You
  • Proven experience in nonprofit fundraising and financial management
  • Strong understanding of charitable trust governance and operations
  • Proficiency with Xero or similar accounting software
  • Excellent strategic thinking and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with board and staff
  • Passion for community arts and mental health sector
What We Offer
  • Contract for services: 10-15 hours per week

  • $25-30,000 annual contract fee
