About the Role

We're looking for a cheerful, energetic, and highly organized Office Administrator to join our team at South Care - Dunedin. In this 30-hour full-time permanent role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of the facility, allowing the team to focus on providing quality care for residents.

Usual hours are Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) from 9 am to 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities

As an Office Administrator, you will:
  • Be the immediate face of the site, welcoming visitors and representing the facility with professionalism and warmth.
  • Support the Facility Manager with compliance, maintenance, and staff performance.
  • Ensure audit readiness and manage administrative processes effectively.
  • Liaise with Head Office on accounts, recruitment, and procurement matters.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment and prepare regular reports.
  • Manage resident admission, medical appointments, and record-keeping.
  • Serve as the facility's front-of-house receptionist for visitors, residents’ whanau, and inquiries.
  • Coordinate weekly shopping for residents and handle supplier accounts with accuracy.
  • Build strong connections with the local community to foster relationships and enhance the facility's presence.
  • Uphold confidentiality and discretion in all matters.
About the facility:
  • South Care Rest Home & Hospital is a 70-bed aged care home located a stone’s throw away from Woodhaugh Gardens and very close to town amenities in North Dunedin.
  • We are proudly part of Sound Care Group, whose five aged care homes are committed to delivering holistic nursing care to our residents.

About You

We're seeking someone with:
  • Solid experience in office administration or similar roles.
  • A proven connection to the local community and the ability to establish strong networks.
  • You must be based locally and familiar with the area to effectively support our residents and facility needs.
  • Advanced computer proficiency and a full NZ driver’s license.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest or experience in eldercare or disability support.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across diverse teams.
  • A warm and approachable personality to welcome all visitors and inquiries.
  • A flexible, proactive, and responsible approach to challenges.
  • Physical fitness and a willingness to continually learn and grow.
