About the Role

As a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality mental health care to young people and their families within our Child, Adolescent, and Family (CAF) Service. Working alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, as well as consultation and liaison to Primary Care.

About the Team

The Canterbury Mental Health Service is the largest provider of mental health care in Te Waipounamu (the South Island). Our CAF Service includes both community-based and inpatient teams, providing a comprehensive, wraparound approach to mental health for tamariki and rangatahi.

You will be joining a collaborative, values-driven team with a shared purpose: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will be:

  • A fully trained and qualified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • A collaborative clinician who works effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Passionate and constructive about improving outcomes for young people and their whanau
  • Committed to ongoing professional growth and contributing to service innovation
  • Proven ability to work under pressure.
