Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pelvic Health Physiotherapist to join our team. In this role, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions for women. You will also be actively involved in developing and/or running specialised Clinical Pilates classes tailored to address pelvic health concerns, including pre and post-natal conditions, prolapse, and pelvic pain.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pelvic health physiotherapy and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of their patients. However, for the right candidate who may not meet all of the specific requirements, we are committed to providing upskilling and training to help you reach your full potential in this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough assessments of pelvic floor function and related conditions
- Develop and implement personalised treatment plans for clients with pelvic health concerns
- Lead and participate in Clinical Pilates classes specifically designed for clients with pelvic health issues, ensuring safe and effective exercise programs
- Provide education, exercise programs, and advice on pelvic health management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals, including GPs, obstetricians, gynecologists, and midwives, to ensure integrated care
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical notes and reports
- Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge in the field of pelvic health
- Educate clients on prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle habits related to pelvic health
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy
- Current NZ Physiotherapy Board registration and Annual Practicing Certificate
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
- Proven experience in pelvic health treatment (minimum of 2 years experience preferred)
- Experience working with pre and post-natal clients and a broad range of pelvic floor conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development
- Experience in exercise prescription for pelvic health clients
- Training in specific pelvic health techniques, such as manual therapy or biofeedback
- Knowledge of pelvic organ prolapse management and treatment
