About the Role
We’re looking for a hands-on Duty Manager to support the Restaurant & Operations Manager in the daily running of Sage.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional ready to step into a leadership role and grow within a dynamic luxury brand. You’ll help ensure smooth daily operations, lead service, and guide the team to deliver an exceptional guest experience every time.
Key Responsibilities
Assist and oversee, when required, daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth, professional service.Lead and motivate the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
Act as the senior manager on shift in the absence of the Restaurant & Operations Manager.
Manage reservations, floor operations, and guest flow.
Work closely with the Executive Chef and kitchen team for seamless service coordination.
Support stock management, supplier relationships, and ordering.
Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Assist with private dining and events in our luxury villas.
Support training, onboarding, and team development.
Contribute ideas to elevate the Sage and Paroa Bay Winery guest experience.

About You
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a restaurant supervisory or duty manager role.LCQ and Manager’s Certificate (or ability to obtain).
Confident leader with excellent communication and guest service skills.
Experience in premium or fine-dining hospitality preferred.
Passionate about creating memorable guest experiences.
Eligible to work in New Zealand.
