HEALTH CARE ASSIOTANT (aka GARE GIVER)

This is an Aged Care Home based in central Auckland in Epsom. We provide care services to our Rest Home level residents that puts quality aged care at the heart of its operation. This facility has been in operation for over 20 years and have continued to provide quality care for our clients.

THE ROLE

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will deliver quality nursing and homecare to the facility residents according to standard policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide ongoing support, assistance and company to residents to maximise their safety and sense of wellbeing
  • Perform domestic tasks, including doing laundry, cleaning and kitchen duties while maintaining infection control principles
  • Safely, efficiently and effectively deliver care based on resident needs
  • Maintain all required support tasks
  • Maintain efficient and timely service for residents
  • Provide quality customer service to all residents
  • Observe privacy and confidentiality of clients and facility
  • Maintain accurate time records, sick call procedure, professional appearance, conduct and all standard facility policy, procedure and conduct

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Successful applicants must hold:
  • At least 12 months experience in nursing and/or healthcare, OR
  • A relevant qualification at/above NZQF Level 3 e.g. Health & Wellbeing
  • Knowledge and experience in medication management & restraint and managing challenging behaviours including mental health.

This is a full-time permanent-role with a minimum of 32hours per week.

This role is based in Epsom , Auckland.

Remuneration: $26.50 to $35 per hour
