About the RoleWe are looking for a Registered Nurse or Midwife to join our multi-disciplinary Perinatal Mental Health team where you will be able to grow professionally in a supportive and collaborative environment.Key responsibilities:Deliver core clinical activities such as a mental health assessment, including risk to self or infant; treatment planning and the development of recovery-orientated interventions that are culturally relevant to our service users and their families/ whanau.Provide whanau inclusive care.Work in collaboration with other members of the specialist team and professionals from other health and social care backgrounds to ensure that service users receive seamless, high quality perinatal mental health care.

About the TeamBased in Hamilton, our multi-disciplinary team provide a community-based secondary mental health service across the Waikato to birthing parents who experience moderate to severe mental health-related issues during pregnancy and the post-partum period.

With its vibrant atmosphere and proximity to outdoor adventures, Hamilton is an ideal place to live and work.For more information on living and working in Waikato click here About youThe ideal candidate have the ability to work with tangagta whaiora who experienced mental health challenges, have an understanding of issues related to the perinatal period including mother - infant relationship, attachment issues and in working therapeutically with service users and their whānau.Be a member of a registered professional body with NZ recognised health credentials.Be able to identify common acute mental health presentations including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, adjustment and related issues.Can work collaboratively with tangata whaiora, have the ability to build strong therapeutic relationships, and support tangata whaiora and their whanau to manage their mental health.Work alongside other health care teams and services in the community and hospital to support continuity of care for women.
