Operations Manager
The Space Llamas entertainment group is looking for a new Operations Manager to oversee our 3 entertainment centers and 2 retail stores.
The Operations Manager is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operations of all stores and teams, steering them towards achieving core objectives. This role requires balancing day-to-day management with strategic oversight to create engaging, safe, and sustainable environments that resonate with our community-focused mission.
We currently have 5 stores and a marketing team who you would be responsible for overseeing. Over time, the number of stores or teams may increase.
Our stores are located across New Zealand so travelling bi-monthly to each store would be a requirement of the job to ensure that each store is operating efficiently. Travel may be more frequent if there is a project or HR situation happening at a store that requires the Operations Managers oversight.

Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management and Development:
o Oversee the disciplinary processes and staff reviews, ensuring all employees adhere to our high standards and maintaining a focus on staff well-being and morale.o Manage staff scheduling, verify the accuracy of timesheets, and oversee payroll processing to ensure timely and correct payments.
o Work with the store managers to make sure staff have everything they need to succeed in their roles.
o Professional development, recruitment and training of store managers.
Strategic Oversight:
o Develop and refine store objectives, innovating new ideas and solutions to enhance customer experience and store performance.o Work with directors on new projects, to align them with group objectives and store improvements.
o Work closely with store managers and directors to set monthly goals and strategic targets, ensuring alignment with our broader mission of community engagement and environmental responsibility.
Operational Efficiency:
o Ensure compliance with all operational policies, including health, safety, and legal documentation.o Manage daily operations, coordinating with directors on significant decisions and strategic directions.
o Conduct regular visits to stores to ensure they meet operational standards and objectives, providing support and guidance to store managers.
Retail Management:
o Make sure retail stock is sufficient for operations, without tying up cashflow unnecessarily.o Make sure retail store managers are staying on top of trends, getting seasonal appropriate stock.
o Make sure stores Ecommerce systems, and software packages are suited for operations.
Financial Management:
o Supervise financial operations including budget adherence and accounts payable. Ensure accuracy in financial reports and documentation, facilitating smooth processing through systems like Xero.o Assist in financial forecasting and planning to align with operational goals and financial stability.
o Optimize expenses where possible for better financial performance, seeking best return on cash investments.
Community and Environmental Impact:
o Actively participate in initiatives that support the local community and contribute to reducing our environmental footprint.o Ensure that our operations reflect our commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for all ages and abilities.
Communication and Reporting:
o Maintain effective communication channels with all team members, ensuring timely updates and reports are shared across the organization.o Prepare and present reports on store performances, operational challenges, and strategic achievements to the directors.
o Regularly meet and discuss operations with the relevant managers, and directors to make sure all parties are informed of key information.
