- re building a healthsystem underpinned by partnership, equity, sustainability, whānau-centred care,and excellence.About the roleThe Allied Health Assistant/Kaiāwhina is responsible for providingsupport to the Te Whatu Ora Te Tai o Poutini Allied Health Service indelivering effective, efficient and quality patient focused therapeutic carewithin the inpatient, outpatient and community settings.
Experience for this role is not essential, however you should becommitted to completing your Certificate inHealth and Wellbeing (Health Assistant) (Level 3) within 24 months of starting.Specifically, therole is responsible forProvision of delegated supervision of individual orgroup exercise programmes / activities for patients of all agesProvision of a level of service that supportspatients to attain a maximum level of independence in their own environmentEffective liaison with delegating Registered HealthProfessionals (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Dietetics,Speech Language Therapy) and all other relevant Health Professionals, outsideAgencies and others involved in the care of the patientsProvision of appropriate education Whanau /Families, Carers and Guardians of these patients as required, including thesafe and correct use of equipmentIn this role you will be required to work within the community setting, with the occasional day in Westport or HokitikaCommitment to flexible & friendly customerservice and patient advocacyAbout theTeam/Service/ LocationOur West Coast Allied HealthTeam includes Allied Health Assistants/Kaiāwhina, Dietetics, Music Therapy,National Travel Assistance Coordination, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy,Social Work and Speech Language Therapy.
We are based out of Westport,Greymouth and Hokitika and deliver assessment and intervention within inpatient, outpatient and community settings covering the WestCoast from Karamea to Haast.About youWe are seeking an enthusiastic team member to join us in this permanent role.
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following skills/ experience:Essential: NCEA level 1-2 or equivalent (required passesin English and Math)Current NZ working rightsCertificate in Health and Wellbeing (Health Assistant) (Level 3) (or tobe completed within 24 months of commencement)Intermediate user in Microsoft Suite (e.g.
Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)A current full NZ drivers- licenceExcellent communication
