Front Desk / Customer Service Representative
About the Role
We are a well-established car rental company seeking a reliable and committed Customer Service Representative / Front Desk team member for a long-term position. Both full-time and part-time arrangements are available.
This role is customer-facing and plays a key part in delivering a smooth, professional rental experience for a diverse customer base, including international travellers and Asian market customers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage customer vehicle pick-up and drop-off processes professionallyPrepare rental agreements and clearly explain rental terms, insurance, and vehicle conditions
Handle customer enquiries in person, by phone, and via email
Process payments, bonds, and refunds accurately
Develop and maintain a good understanding of our vehicle fleet, including vehicle models, features, and categories
Carry out basic vehicle condition checks and assist with vehicle cleanliness, including light cleaning or coordinating car washing when required
Coordinate closely with the operations team regarding vehicle availability, movements, and daily scheduling
Maintain accurate records and complete basic administrative tasks
Handle customer issues calmly and responsibly, in line with company procedures
About You
Reliable, responsible, and genuinely looking for a long-term roleInterest in, or familiarity with, Asian cultures and customer service expectations, particularly in a tourism or service context
Ability to speak one or more Asian languages (e.g. Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean, Japanese) is an advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Customer-focused, patient, and detail-oriented
Comfortable working with customers from different cultural backgrounds
Willing to learn vehicle knowledge and rental processes
Hands-on and flexible, happy to assist with basic vehicle-related tasks when needed
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Confident using computer systems and learning new platforms
Requirements
Eligibility to work in New ZealandFull New Zealand driver licence (preferred)
Willingness to work weekends or public holidays as part of a rotating roster
Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, tourism, or car rental is an advantage but not essential
