Dairy Farm Assistant - Tram Road Dairy - Hokitika
The Opportunity**
Join Pamu and our dedicated team on at Tram Road Dairy, a well-managed farm in Westport.
You’ll support daily operations, including milking, feeding, and general farm maintenance.
This role offers a chance to work closely with the farm manager, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to the overall farm operations. Whether you're looking to start a career in agriculture or seeking a new challenge, this position provides a supportive environment to grow and learn.
Key Responsibilities:
- Milking cows and ensuring animal welfare
- Feeding livestock and monitoring their health
- Assisting with calving and calf rearing
- Maintaining farm equipment and infrastructure
- Participating in pasture management and environmental initiatives
**The Farm**
Located ten minutes south of Westport, Tram Road Dairy is a unique dairy farm due to its undulating terrain and significant amount of QE2 and DOC reserves within its boundary. Recreational activities abound, both inside and outside the farm boundary.
- 880 Kiwi Cross Cows peak milk
- 60 bail rotary with ACRs and Milk Hub
- Approx 429 ha eff and 300 ha bush
- Rolling terrain with sandy soils

**About You**
You will have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, while we prefer some familiarity with farming and farm equipment, it’s not essential – we can train you.
You will have:- An exceptional attitude to health and safety and animal welfare
- The ability to work unsupervised
- Restricted or full driver’s licence
